HEAVEN
A
2nd meaning for
the word heaven is OUTER SPACE,
as we can see from the following passage:
Deuteronomy 30:4
A 3rd meaning for
"heaven" is other PLANETS AND GALAXIES,
as we get from the following verses:
Isaiah
13:13 |
|
Jeremiah 4:23
I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void;
And to the HEAVENS, and they had NO LIGHT.
Jeremiah 33:25-26
Thus says the LORD, "If My covenant for day and night stand not,
and the
FIXED PATTERNS OF HEAVEN and earth I have not established,
then I would reject
the descendants of Jacob and David My servant,
not taking from his descendants
rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."
In those examples just
quoted,
God is talking about the STARS AND PLANETS
far away from
Earth.
Scientists now realize that the lights from heaven
are really far
away "suns" and galaxies.
They now understand the vastness of
the universe.
In one of these galaxies far
away God is building a new city, the New Jerusalem.
Hebrews 11:16
But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly:
wherefore God is
not ashamed to be called their God;
for he hath prepared for them a CITY.
2 Peter 3:13
But according to His promise we are looking for NEW HEAVENS
and a new earth, in
which righteousness dwells.
The word "heaven" in these passages refers to a place away from
this Earth --
a place where people are good and righteousness dwells.
This
is the place Yeshua promised to take us.
This is the place we are
awaiting. Read the Rapture.
There is yet a 4th meaning for the word "heaven."
Isaiah 14:12 |
Hebrews 9:24
For Christ hath not entered into the holy places made with hands,
which are
the figures of the true; but into HEAVEN itself,
now to appear in the PRESENCE
OF GOD for us.
As we can see, "HEAVEN" in these passages
means
"IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD." Jesus ascended to this
"heaven
and sits at the right hand of God.
Satan used to have
access to this "heaven"
when he used to accuse Job in the presence of God Job 1:9.
In the presence of God Himself no flesh can enter,
so
we believe this place is only for spirit beings such as angels.
This might
also be the place referred to in the Bible
as "THE HEAVEN OF HEAVENS."
Nehemiah 9:6
You alone are the LORD.
You have made the heavens,
The HEAVEN OF HEAVENS with all their host,
The earth and all that is on it,
The seas and all that is in them.
You give life to all of them
And the heavenly host bows down before You.
With the meanings for the word "heaven"
elucidated, the next
question is:
What about Enoch?
Hebrews 11:5
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he WOULD NOT SEE DEATH;
and he was not
found because God took him up;
for he obtained the witness that before his being
taken up
he was pleasing to God.
Here the Bible states that God took Enoch out of this
Earth
so that he would not die. On this earth all men die,
but in
Paradise, where there is the fruit of the tree of life,
men could live forever
in human form.
Revelation 2:7
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him
who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life
which is in the Paradise
of God.
Remember, Paradise is where Paul's friend was taken to.
2 Corinthians 12:2-4
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body
I do not
know, or out of the body I do not know,
God knows--such a man was caught up to
the THIRD HEAVEN.
And I know how such a man--whether in the body
or apart
from the body I do not know,
God knows--was caught up into PARADISE
and heard
inexpressible words,
which a man is not permitted to speak.
Paul states that the third heaven is called PARADISE.
This is probably the place where Enoch was taken
so that
he would not see death.
If Elijah is still alive, he must also be in the "third heaven" or Paradise.
