The Tree Of Life

Tree of Life

God planted the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. Anyone eating the fruit of this tree would gain eternal life. He also planted the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; anyone eating of this bad tree would die. God warned Adam and Eve not to eat of the evil tree, but the devil being crafty deceived Eve into thinking that she could.

Genesis 2:8
The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.

Genesis 2:9
Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evi

Genesis 3:1-5
Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Indeed, has God said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'? The woman said to the serpent, From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.' The serpent said to the woman, You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit from the evil tree.  They did not overcome Satan.  Adam and Eve were both cursed and thrown out of the Garden of Eden.  God then blocked their access to the Tree of Life.

Genesis 3:23

therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

Genesis 3:24
So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

God placed a cherubim with a flaming sword to prevent Adam and Eve from eating the fruit of the Tree of Life.  They would not live forever.  They eventually died, and also their children died.

The Garden of Eden and the Tree of Life were destroyed during  the flood, but God, in His wisdom, provided a way for us to have access to the Tree of Life.  He has created a paradise in the Third Heaven in which He has planted the Tree of Life.

In order for people to go to Paradise and eat of the Tree of Life, they need to overcome Satan's temptations, and be forgiven of their sins. This is only possible through Jesus Christ, the only way to gain access to eternal life.  Although Adam and Eve fell due to the Devil, Christ triumphed over sin, and His sacrifice allows us to have access to the Tree of Life.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'

Revelation 2:7
'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.'

Luke 23:43
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you today, you shall be with me in Paradise.

Although people have gone to paradise in different occasions, the great majority will go at the time of the Rapture. Then they will have access to the Tree of Life and live forever. This has become possible because Satan is cast out of heaven and can no longer deceive people in heaven. Satan is on Earth destroying things and attacking the followers of Yeshua. See the Woman with Twelve Stars.

God will plant the Tree of Life in the New Earth

When Christ comes back to Earth with the saints for the Battle of Armageddon, He will chain Satan and restore the conditions on Planet Earth to those which existed before Adam and Eve sinned.  But the tree of life for the rest of all humanity is reserved till after the Millennium.

At the end of the Millennium, when Satan is thrown into the lake of fire,  Jesus will be able to plant the Tree of Life in the New Earth, as Satan will not be around to deceive anyone anymore.  Then God will bring the city of New Jerusalem from Heaven and place it on the New Earth.

Revelation 3:12
'He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.

Revelation 21:2
And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:3
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,'

New Jerusalem on the New Earth

Revelation 21:4
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.

The inhabitants of New Jerusalem will eat of the Tree of Life and receive eternal life.  There will no longer be death or sickness.  The leaves of the Tree of Life will be medicinal and will cure illnesses.  There will be different varieties of the Tree of Life which will give fruit each month of the year.

Revelation 22:2
... On either side of the river was the Tree of Life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the Tree of Life, and may enter by the gates into the city.

Revelation 22:19
...and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Tree of Life and from the Holy City, which are written in this book.

Yes, we may still have access to the wonderful Tree of life which Adam and Eve were barred from eating. It is made possible by the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, our Messiah Yeshua. Therefore turn to YHVH with all your heart so that you receive the Seal of God, your name be written in the Book of Life, and you have access to the Tree of Life.

Revelation 21:27
...and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it (the New Jerusalem), but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
