I do not believe that artificially intelligent robots will take over. That we will serve our metal masters - yes serve. Actually, that sounds a lot like the plot of an old school science fiction movie. Well, a movie that is long on fiction and short on science.
There is no part of the bible where it talks about in the last days metal men are taking over --- not one single bible verse. OK, so the Holy Bible does not warn us about the danger of robotic metal men. It does not say that humans will be erased from our universe. Also, it does not warn us that creatures similar to humans will take over.
Instead, the Holy Bible says that in the last days there will be moral decay and people living in sin. As people depart from God, the situation on Planet Earth will get worse and worse. Revelation 9:21 That is what should worry us. A lot of churches say that God's law was nailed to the cross. This is a lie - plain and simple. God does not want us to lie, or steal, or kill. Well, here is what God says: John 14:15 |
I do not feel that we need to worry about AI taking over. In fact, this technology is still in its infancy now.
Really, there has been a lot of progress since the 1800's and that ancient era. Back then, people used horses to travel to other areas. I believe they could not imagine what the world looks like now. Back in the 1950's college professors said that in the future there would be men on mars. They also said that there would be flying cars. Well, I look up at the sky, and I do not see any flying cars. The future is far different than what we have seen in science fiction movies. Computers have indeed changed a lot since the old 1960's era. However, they cannot think, and we should become more aware.
Oh yes, processing power is on an increase. That is what we see. However, computers still lack basic common sense.
The limitations of AI are many. Frankly, we need
to understand what is going on. OK, so a computer is often trained on data
that is in error. This leads the AI programs to draw conclusions that
are erroneous. |
