God Who Covers You
Gas prices. Food prices. Bills and more bills. Are you feeling the tidal
wave of anxiety yet? We all have, but this is why I carry an umbrella.
An umbrella? “How can an umbrella stop a tidal wave?” My umbrella is
special, It’s made out of feathers.
The Psalmist says,
Psalm 91:4
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his
wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
God will cover you!
Have you ever seen someone in the rain getting soaked and wished you
could help them? God takes no pleasure in you getting soaked by the
world’s problems. God does not seek to shame you or embarrass you
because of your difficulties, He seeks to cover you as he covered Adam
and Eve
Genesis 3:21
The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.
Like he made provision for Adam and Eve, He made provision for our sin as well with the blood of Christ. He covers us!
God also makes the righteous a promise,
Psalm 5:12
For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
Whether you have sinned or living righteously, you are covered!
God will shelter you
You, most likely, have the good sense to get in out of the rain, but
have you ever been caught in a downpour with no place to go? Maybe you
tried to put a plastic bag on your head or tried to use your purse or
briefcase as protection, but you quickly found them insufficient.
There are times of trouble where you feel like you have no place to go,
no place to get away from the storm of the world, but God says, “Run
to me” and I will shelter you.
Psalm 61:3
For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
God is big enough and strong enough to handle any situation you find
yourself in. He is waving you in, “I’m over here! Run to me!”
God will prepare you for battle
There is nothing worse than feeling ill-prepared. Have you ever felt
like you had the wrong clothes or shoes on while performing a certain
task? This is how you might feel when trouble comes your way but God
says, “I will suit you up for battle. I have prepared just what you
need!”
When depression, fear and anxiety come, remember the full armor God has
been prepared for you.
Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
You have real world problems but the real enemy is spiritual and you
need spiritual weapons to fight him with.
God’s word is alive and active, prepared to help you in every life
circumstance you face, whether you are rich or poor, healthy or sick or
happy or sad. The Apostle Paul shares the timelessness of scripture and
it’s ability to give you hope when he says,
Romans 15:4
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Yes, my umbrella is made of feathers, but so is yours.
The next time a wave of anxiety, fear, doubt, pain, loss or depression try to sweep you away do not forget who holds your umbrella, Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides and covers.

OK,
so God wants us to say the truth even when it is uncomfortable for us.
Lies have no place in the life of a Christian, but we often prefer not
to tell people certain truths for fear they might hate us. Religious
reporting is a tricky thing as we do not want more enemies. Still,
the truth is what God demands of us.
John 16:13
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
People, say that our words are not that important, but
they are wrong. God judge us on what we say.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
I know that good thoughts lead to good words
and these in turn lead to good deeds and that we need to monitor what we
think on. Think of what you are feeding your brain everyday and we we
see on screens.
