Las Vegas Massacre

On October 1, 2017 we had one of the worst shootings in the history of America. Sadly, the Las Vegas Massacre left at least 59 people dead and more than 500 injured. News stories report that Steven Paddock opened fire on the country music festival crowd on Sunday night, shortly after a rendition of "God Bless America." Authorities say that the shooter was found dead in his Mandalay hotel room after  committing suicide.

They are wondering what could possibly cause a retired accountant to kill so many. Right now, there are many theories such as gambling debts or mental illness, but those are not panning out. Photos posted of a suicide note might reveal more information on his motives. Reporters say that Stephen Paddock had over 200 reports of suspicious transactions involving large amounts of currency. This is troubling as it could mean that the retired accountant was laundering money.

ISIS says that Stephen Paddock is one of their califate soldiers and that he converted to the Muslim religion a few months ago. Frankly, this should not surprise us. Look at the Omar Mateen shooting in the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida last year. Omar killed 49 people and he was also said to be an ISIS soldier.

In other news, ISIS is telling terrorists to poison food in groceries. Poison could be their next weapon. They are looking for new ways to harm us.

A few days ago, a man in Berlin did poison baby food with anti-freeze. Truly, these are the last days in which God predicted people would become more evil, having no love and without natural affection.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I ask God that He takes us out of this evil world into paradise. Just like Noah’s Flood wiped out the wicked people of his day, God will get rid of the evil that exists now. In fact, God will destroy this evil world that we see, much in the same way as He destroyed Sodom many years ago.

You Shall Know Them by Their Fruits

Last week I called the plumber about a leaking pipe. I had many times in the past called this company up. For example, they had charged me $150 four years ago to fix a broken pipe. However, there is now a new owner. He charged me $849 to fix a leaking pipe. If you calculate $100 per hour, and two hours of work that is $200, and the service charge should be about $80, and the cost of materials is a lot less than $100, so he is way over.

I called the owner of the company the next day. I do this because we, as Christians, should confront people who do injustice -- in this case the injustice was done to me. He did agree to cut my price, but only 100 dollars. Fact is, he told me that he would refund $100 to my credit card. However, I went into my bank statements and there was no refund - none. Frankly, I do not plan to use his services ever again. The old owner was honest and his prices were fair, but the new management is corrupt to the core.

The new company owner had an opportunity to fix his mistake, but he did not do so. God looks at our actions and that is what he judges us on. God requires that we be just.

Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

Matthew 7:16-17
By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

As the news in my little town gets out about the new plumber, I expect that fewer people will be using his services. Right now he is living off the good name of the old plumber that passed away. However, the new plumber may yet regret overcharging his customers.

The Holy Bible says that we reap what we sow.

Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
