God Does Not Change

There are many "Christians" that say it is important to keep God's commandments, but in fact they do NOT. When asked about which commandments they keep, they start to make excuses.

Do they think we need to keep the 10 commandments as related in Exodus 20? The 4th commandment states "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy....

Exodus 20:8
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy...

Why do most Christians "forget" to keep this commandment? God in His wisdom started the 4th commandment with the word "remember." How easily His followers want to "forget."

What is the problem with keeping the 4th commandment compared to the rest of the 10?

Does God say in the bible He has cancelled or changed the observance of the 4th commandment -- to keep the Sabbath / 7th day of the week holy? Not at all; on the contrary, God states "I do NOT change."

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

The word of YHVH God, our creator, is true. Everything written in the bible is inspired by our God, and therefore, useful to guide us in all truth.

I truly believe that the reason many Christians do NOT keep the 4th commandment is because it is the only commandment that identifies God as the creator, and Satan, trying to deceive the whole world, is behind this attempt to destroy the followers of our creator YHVH.

God is all knowing and everything we receive from our Father in Heaven is for our own good. We know we can trust Him as He does not lie, and He does not change.

Jesus said that He did not come to abolish any of the laws of His father.

Matthew 5:17-19
Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

How about the dietary restrictions about eating only clean animals? Has God changed that? Absolutely not!

Jesus and the apostles followed these dietary laws which God instituted since creation. Even at the time of Noah, people knew about "clean and unclean" animals. Noah took into the ark one pair of the unclean, but seven pairs of the clean.

Genesis 7:2
Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate.

So, God's rules about healthy eating and keeping of the Sabbath predates Moses, and therefore, they are enforced by God on all of Noah's descendants -- that means ALL the human race.

Question for you. Did God change the pigs?

Many Christians state that after Jesus' resurrection you can eat unclean meats such as pigs. But, the nature of animals such as hogs has not changed; they are still unclean. Look at pigs. They still eat refuse, roll around in mud, and are full of disease organisms including the one which produces trichinosis -- a human illness which is incurable even now.

God does not change; He is always the same. The animals have not changed, and God gave us these laws for a reason.

If God was always changing His rules, we would not know what to do, and we would live in confusion. Well, that would mean that we could NOT trust any of God's promises for the future, because they could change.

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Malachi 3:6
For I am the Lord, I change not...

1 Samuel 15:29
He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.

The only reason we believe that Jesus is soon coming back to earth is because we trust the word of God completely. He will not change His mind. He is unshakeable, dependable, immutable, trustworthy. His commandments are here to stay and will never be trespassed without consequences. God is just and you can be sure that His judgments will be executed as well as His rewards.

Therefore, to attain eternal life, repent and start obeying ALL of His commandments. Blessed be the name of our Lord YHVH. May His Kingdom come soon.... as He promised.

Created Beings May Change

God created angels before making the heavens and the earth. He asks Job about this very point.

Job 38
4Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding.

5Who has laid the measures thereof, if you know? or who has stretched the line upon it?

6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

God refers to the sons of God (angels) singing joyfully at the time the Earth was created. But later on, one of the angels, Lucifer, or Satan the Devil, changed his ways and became evil.

There are 2 places in the bible that start addressing a king, but shift to the demonic influence behind the king. This is to show us that created being may change, and become evil. Look at these verses:

Ezekiel 28:11-17: "Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee."

Satan the Devil is the cherub (type of angel) that was created by God (not born as a man) and had been in Eden.

Isaiah 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

The one that fell from heaven is Satan the devil. He was in Eden, where he lied to Eve and influenced her to disobey the Creator God. He has continued to deceive most of the human population on this earth, trying to change them into following his evil deeds.

A defining characteristic of Satan is that he mixes truth and lie into a stew to confuse us. His goal is to destroy as many as he can.

1 John 3:8
the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Christ tells us that the Devil is the father of the lie. That means there were no lies for a period of time from the moment the Devil was created till he changed and became a liar. The rest of the angels were probably quite trusting for a while. Perhaps this is why the Devil was able to fool 1/3 of the angels to follow him.

Let me give you an example. When Argentinian soldiers first came to the Falkland Islands, one of the world's most remote regions, during the war between England and Argentina in 1982, sheep would walk right up to them. If the soldiers were hungry and needed food, they would simply grab a sheep. Killing one and eating it was easy. However, after a few days, the sheep learned to be wary. Soldiers found it was harder to kill them. Most sheep had realized by then that soldiers were dangerous and stayed far away from them.

The lesson for us is that angels can change their nature and do evil; humans likewise can change to become better, or become worse. Having the word of God as a lamp to guide our steps, let us steer into the right path that leads to good works following ALL of God's commandments. This is the way to happiness and eternal life.
