Few people understand a lie's great destructive power. It is the power to ruin relations established over years. For example, if a man cheats on his wife, he usually lies to cover it up. When the truth comes out, it destroys the marriage. Lack of trust is a poison. Most Christians have heard of a little white lie, but there is no such thing, as God considers all lies to be a sin. Rev 21:8 But to the cowards, the unbelievers, the evil, the defiled, murderers, drug users, fornicators, idolaters and all LIARS: their part is in the burning Lake of Fire and Brimstone, which is the second death.” Usually, the first sin a person does is lying. This is because lying is easy. The devil started out by becoming a liar. John 8:44 A drug addict starts by experimenting with simpler and more common illegal drugs such as pot, not heroine, and a robber does not start out robbing a bank, but might steal a pen. In the same way, lying might seem like a small sin, but leads to bigger ones. 1 John 3:8 Satan told a lie to Eve. He was subtle and was able to fool her into throwing her immortality away. Sadly, for that sin we all now pay a heavy price. Let me give you one example of the destructive power of a lie.
Edison said it was a "figure of speech" and that Nicola needed to understand American humor. He offered Tesla $10 a week more. That was a slap in the face: Tesla quit on the spot, and from that day on, they were enemies. Back in the 1800's, gentlemen did not need to sign contracts, as their word was like gold. This proved Thomas Edison to be a dishonest person; the electric motor would make millions of dollars for Edison, far more than the amount he had promised Tesla, but never did pay. From that time on, the rest of Edison's workers knew what type of man their boss was. Thomas Edison Often liars do not care about the truth, but think only of the advantages they get in the present, when in reality, they would benefit a lot more if they were true to their word. If God did not tell us the truth, then we would have no reason to believe anything He would say. The fact is, the prophecies in the Bible that have been fulfilled, have come about exactly as God said they would. This is what gives us the confidence that the prophecies for the future will be fulfilled as God states. |
All Christians agree on fulfilled prophecy. It is very easy to agree that a prophecy was fulfilled AFTER the fact. For example, the prophecy about the Messiah entering Jerusalem sitting on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 John 12:15 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Do not be afraid, people of Zion; look, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt!” Of course, as the time for the fulfillment of prophecy gets closer, God is able to open the minds of the believers so that they would accept the truth in a more clear and precise form.
A similar problem is what happened in reference to "the only proof that Jesus gave about Himself." Satan has managed to make most Christians believe, and you may be one of them, that Jesus was buried on a Friday evening and resurrected Sunday at dawn. If you believe in that frame of time, then you must accept that Jesus lied when He said He would stay the same amount of time that Jonah stayed inside the belly of the fish (3 days and 3 nights). And well, if you believe that the story of Jonah was fictitious, then you have NO SAVIOR. But Jesus did NOT lie to you about this event -- the most important event about His life here on earth. Religious leaders have just followed the Catholic church in their misinterpretation of the bible, and Satan is laughing all the way to the bank. Please see - Did Christ Die on Friday? Three days and three nights is what God says. Religious leaders often tell us that Christ rose after sunrise. That way there is
part of a day on Sunday and that it counts as a whole day even if it is a tiny piece. This is a trick to lead you astray. God has always kept His word. Remember, this is the only sign Christ would give us. Some Christian churches want you to believe that Jesus did not keep His sign - can you imagine? We believe this link will help you understand this better. The decision to take the scales from your eyes and know the real truth, from your bible, is entirely yours! |
